Npower News: Federal Government’s Payment Update for Beneficiaries

NASIMS Message to NPower Batch C Beneficiaries

The National Social Investment Management System (NASIMS) has provided an important update for the current batch of NPower beneficiaries, specifically Batch C. Beneficiaries who have not yet been selected for the program are advised to regularly check their dashboards for any updates.

Eligibility for Payment

NASIMS, the administrative body for the National Social Investment Programmes (NSIPs) under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, has communicated that applicants who have not been selected for the NPower program are not eligible to receive payment. It is crucial for potential beneficiaries to stay updated by regularly checking their dashboards.

Current Phase of the NPower Scheme

The NPower scheme, a part of the NSIPs, is currently in its third phase, known as Batch C. Stream I beneficiaries from this batch have completed their participation in the program, while Stream II beneficiaries were onboarded towards the end of 2022. NASIMS issued a statement to NPower Batch C beneficiaries on Sunday, May 7, via its official Facebook page, reiterating that those who have not been selected will not receive payment.

Backlog Payment of Beneficiaries

NASIMS previously confirmed the gradual disbursement of backlog payments for validated accounts of beneficiaries in the federal government’s NPower scheme. This ensures that beneficiaries receive their overdue payments.

Federal Government Approves Funds for NPower Training and Infrastructure Projects

In a separate development, the federal government has approved N19.24 billion for various initiatives. These include the training of 50,000 non-graduate NPower beneficiaries and the installation of taxiway lighting systems at airports in Port Harcourt, Lagos, and Abuja. Additionally, funds have been allocated for consultancy services for the Dadin Kowa 40MW power project in Gombe state and the furnishing of the 10-story headquarters of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency in Victoria Island, Lagos state.

How to Ensure Timely Payment from NPower

It is crucial for NPower beneficiaries to understand the payment process to ensure prompt receipt of their payments. NPower will only pay beneficiaries after they have completed their assigned work, and it is their responsibility to ensure timely payments. To qualify for payment, it is important to adhere to the program’s guidelines, which are provided by NPower to keep beneficiaries informed. If there are any questions or concerns, beneficiaries should seek clarification from the NPower team.

To avoid delays in payment, beneficiaries should take their time when filling out their applications to avoid errors. Rushing through the process can lead to mistakes that may delay payment. It is important to note that every applicant is valuable to the scheme, and submitting multiple applications is not allowed.

To prevent duplicate payments, NPower requires beneficiaries to provide their Bank Verification Number (BVN). It is crucial to provide the correct BVN to avoid payment errors. Attempting to apply multiple times can convey a lack of seriousness and harm the chances of being selected.

Lastly, it is important to understand that NPower beneficiaries must actively engage in work to receive payment. Assuming that payment will be received without putting in the effort is a mistake. By following the program’s guidelines and working diligently, beneficiaries will receive their payments on time.
